Dear Mozzie Dude,
I'm sorry but our brief sojourn together in the jungles of lim chu kang has now come to an end. I hope the 3 nights I spent feeding you, and helping you get fat was a wonderful, orgasmic one for you. Though, I did move around a lot those 4 days, I hope you're happy i was in the jungles helping to feed your entire family, uncles, grandmother, grandfather, aunties, nephews and nieces included.
Right from the beginning in the Urban environment in some ulu part of Ama Keng, a land that look strangely like taking the Singapore-KL bus service down Malaysia, I watched my friends fire away. Not at you, of course, only people in the movie Wanted, starring Angelina Choli, can shoot insects that small. And when all the firing ended in the night, I met your friend Mr Rat. He was running around the building I was supposed to sleep in. He didnt disturb me though. I was too tired to care anyway. You just kept feeding on my exposed hands, and neck. But that was ok, I still slept well enough.
The second day was when all your family and friends held an F1 party at an open space in the jungle. The sky provided house pours on the house, it just kept pouring all day. You lapped up all the joy and in your drunken frenzy, you went into overdrive coming after the small land rover I had to make house in. You bit through my uniform, you bit through my sleeves. You enjoyed my muddy boots. You had one hell of a party, didn't you!
The third day was a short stay away from you in the morning. Finding comfort at National University Hospital. It was my first time there. I had my first casualty of the field camp, and it was pretty serious. Hence, it warrant an evacuation to the Hospital for a good 5hours. I apologise for my brief absence, I hope those who remain behind was suffice to your hunger pangs. It was such a long day that day, compounded by my land rover having a flat tyre in the middle of nowhere in the jungle that night. While we tirelessly fix the tyre, your rather big and muscular mosquitos friends came out to give us some instructions in our eyes. Though I couldn't understanding that annoying buzz you call instructions, I understood the gesture. You were just trying to help right? I'm sorry I swatted back, like I said I was rather annoyed by it.
On the fourth day, much went by without incident, I realised that spraying a little insect repellent can help to prevent your bee friends flying all over me. Thank god, because I don't really like bees very much. They fly very unpredictably, you know what mean right? It was a sad day I know. I was surprise not many of you came out to say goodbye. Maybe because i was more muddy then wet, the scent couldn't attract you. It's alright, though.
In all, our brief vacation together was splendid. Thank you for letting me into your abode for those 4 days. I really had a good time, tiring, and itchy sometimes, but I had a good field camp.
Thanks Mozzie Dude.
Regards,
CPL Md Hanis
ps. Please ask your Urban cousins, "Where's the Love?" Dengue is really scary and painful, we mean peace, stop the war. Tell them of the 4 days I stayed in your home, how we both got along swimmingly. There's no need for the killing.
