You see, after a good year of life in the Army, it has finally hit the point where most of your best buddies ORD, and there you are just stuck in camp. While they prepare to convert back to civilians, you still wear Green. It just ain't no fun. I know this feeling is temporary because growing up means moving on.
But, you can't deny the fun you have had in the year with these guys. You spend almost all your weekdays, day and night, doing everything as one unit. They become a part of your life and suddenly, when the time draws near to move on to better things, you are still here enduring the regime and the Green life.
Now, it's just down to the very few of us left. I become the "Lao Cheow" of the bunch. I have been in Guards for almost a whole year already. Yet, 8 more months still seems so freaking long man.
Oh well, just as time has passed by with these guys, this is the fresh new generation. The Third Gen of Medics I will see forming the Platoon. Slowly, but surely, I will see my time come. Now, must lan lan suck thumb and go chiong with the Battalion as they move closer to Ops.
Cheebye.
